Sunrise over Mountains

Nievecitas McGuire

Hello Northwest Montana! I am both thrilled and honored to be working with Cabinet Mountain Cooperative as your school psychologist. I have been a nationally certified school psychologist since 2012 after completing my education at the University of Montana. I practiced in Kodiak, Alaska before moving back to Montana with my beautiful family.

School psychologists play a varied and exciting role in schools. What can that look like? According to the National Associations of School Psychologists (NASP), these roles can be very unique depending on the needs of the school and students.

School Psychologists can PROVIDE :

  • Academic, behavioral, and mental health supports.

  • Evaluations, assessment, and data analysis.

  • Consultation with teachers and families.

  • Culturally responsive services.

  • Struggling and diverse learners.

  • Student achievement and well-being.

  • Safe and supportive learning environments.

  • School-family-community partnerships.

  • School-wide data -based decision making.

We SERVE:

  • In schools and other educational and clinical settings.

My overall goal is to help reduce obstacles to learning so that students can be successful in school. I look forward to working with staff and students to make this a healthy and positive school year.
